New Rock Wall at McEwens Beach

The McEwens Beach Erosion Protection Group is currently undertaking construction of a protective rock wall at McEwens Beach, the Mackay Regional Council informs.

The wall is designed to protect residential properties on the beachfront from ongoing erosion and sand movement in the area.

At this stage, works are expected to be complete by January 30, 2016, weather permitting.

The operations will be conducted between the hours of 6.30am-6pm Monday to Friday, with the possibility of some Saturday work, subject to tidal movement.

To ensure public safety during these works, the access to the carpark on Aura St at McEwan’s Beach has been closed.
