Killybegs Harbor Dredging Plan Raises Concerns

Recent plans to dredge the Killybegs harbor in Donegal County, Ireland, have sparked a great deal of controversy.

A number of local groups are objecting to the plans including the Killybegs Community Council.

Concerns have been raised over the dangers that might arise from the proposed dredging of the harbor.

According to the Council’s latest release, community is drafting an objection to any toxic matter being disposed of in the sea.

Chairperson of the Council, Emer McGuinness, is of opinion that the dredged material must be disposed of safely on shore.
