UPDATE: Sunset Beach Dredging Meeting Canceled

The Sunset Beach Town Council has canceled its planned community meeting to discuss shoreline management because of the threat of Hurricane Matthew, according to the Coastal Review Online.

The meeting was scheduled for Saturday, October 8, and an alternate date has not been scheduled.

Moffatt & Nichol, an engineering company hired by the Sunset Beach Town, was to make a presentation on the Town of Sunset Beach 2016 Shoreline Management and Pre-Dredging Analysis Update.

The proposed dredging areas include: Jinks, Mary’s and Turtle Creeks, the Bay Area, the Feeder Channel and the finger canals along Sixth, Marlin, Dolphin, Sailfish and Cobia streets.
