Grants Available for Minnesota Coastal Area Projects
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is seeking applications by Friday, September 1, for short-term action request (STAR) funding for projects in Minnesota’s coastal area.
These grants, offered through Minnesota’s Lake Superior Coastal Program, help local communities, agencies and organizations balance protection of coastal resources while providing places for people to live, work and play.
STAR grants offer funding for eligible, short-term projects located within the coastal program service area in northeastern Minnesota.
According to the DNR, eligible projects must align with at least one of the following categories: Coastal Habitat, Coastal Hazards, Water Quality, Public Access, Coastal Community Development, or Coordination and Public Involvement.
