Orion Group Holdings, Inc. (ORN) has announced a contract award of approximately $97 million for a construction project in Port Everglades, Florida.
According to the company, ORN’s Marine segment was recently awarded a contract from a joint venture of Moss & Associates and Kiewit Infrastructure South Co. (Moss/Kiewit JV) for the construction of the Southport Turning Notch Extension in Port Everglades.
The company’s scope on the project calls for the creation of a new cargo berthing area and includes the procurement and installation of approximately 5,000 linear feet of combi-wall bulkhead, as well as the concrete cap structure and related bollards, fenders and appurtenances.
Mark Stauffer, Orion’s Chief Executive Officer, commented, “The opportunity to play an integral role in the largest expansion project in Port Everglades history is a tremendous opportunity for Orion’s Marine segment. We are excited to work on this port expansion project and continuing to serve as a high-quality solution provider for our customers.”
ORN also announced that the project is expected to begin immediately with a duration of approximately two years.
