During the work, approximately 1,733,500 cubic yards of material will be removed from the mentioned area.

Under the project, set to be performed by a hopper dredger, the contractor will transport the dredged material and place in the designated Government-furnished placement area at Dam Neck Ocean Disposal Site.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District, is the contracting activity.

Bids were solicited via the internet with three received, according to the latest U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) release. It is expected that this dredging scheme will be completed no later than August 28, 2019.
