Work, which is due to start on Tuesday, 17th September, will be carried out by Les Searle Plant Hire and Sales Ltd. and should take approximately five days to complete.

Hours of work will be Monday to Friday from 7am-7pm, said the council in its release.

The area of works will take place between the Hovertravel site and Southsea Beach West and the haulage route will be clearly marked with beach marshals present to ensure public safety.

According to the council, the beach will remain open to the public throughout the recycling activity and there will be no disruption to the Hovertravel service.
