Inspecting final stage works on the Seaway Promenade today, Acting Premier Steven Miles, said that it signals further progress with the delivery of The Spit Master Plan.

“Locals and visitors will be able to stroll out to the viewing platform at the end of the seawall and enjoy views south along the city’s coastline and to the north the scenic beaches of South Stradbroke Island.

“The Seaway Promenade will become one of the Gold Coast’s must-visit destinations.

“It’s exciting to see these new spaces coming to life as we work to transform the Spit into a premium destination.”

The next phase of The Spit Master Plan Implementation is progressing, with a contract for the design work on a pontoon and jetty at the northern end of Marine Stadium being awarded to GHD.

Construction is due to start mid-year on the $4 million jetty and pontoon.

The Seaway Promenade is expected to open next month.
