Millie is the name of ODNR’s dredger that will sucking up sediment and improving navigation on the PLX for the next several years.

“Portage Lakes Advisory Council (PLAC) has been advocating for this for a number of years, so seeing her floating in the water is a big deal,” PLAC said in their latest announcement.

According to PLAC, the Millie will be sucking sediment soon.

The sediment will be transported by sunken hose to the dredge waste material site that was completed last year at New State Park.
