Hulhumeedhoo land reclamation in full swing

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has just released the latest update on the S. Hulhumeedhoo MIFCO land reclamation project.

Dredging works on the new harbor basin and entrance channel are currently ongoing, said MTCC.

According to the update, company’s dredger ‘Jarraafaa 3’ works 24 hours in two shifts on this project.

Scope of work includes:

• dredging and excavation operations of 471,380cbm;

• reclamation operations of 1,788cbm;

• construction of a 97m quay wall.

The value of the project is MVR 68.80 million ($4.5 million).
