New shipment of rock boulders for Girifushi breakwater arrives

The K. Girifushi Harbour development project is moving forward according to schedule, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) said.

Second shipment of rock boulders required for the Girifushi breakwater construction was delivered to the project site yesterday.

Breakwater bed preparation works are currently ongoing.

Scope of the project, awarded to MTCC by Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), will include:

• construction of a 268m breakwater;

• a 46m channel breakwater.

The value of the project is MVR 18.3 million ($1.2 million).
