Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) has completed the Mid-Breton Land Bridge Marsh Creation Project.

This project restored 373 acres of vital wetland habitat in an area devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

According to CPRA, this $40 million investment is part of a larger land bridge that will help reduce wave erosion and storm surge impacts, while also decreasing salinity levels in Breton Sound. Also, the project is set to provide critical habitat for fish and wildlife while strengthening the natural protections that coastal communities depend on.
