The Netherlands: Rotterdam Port Seeks Bidders for Harbour Construction Works

Port of Rotterdam Authority has announced tender for harbour construction works.

Details:

The Parkkade Rotterdam comprises a variety of old constructions, whose design life has now been exceeded.

The wharf is used as a mooring and needs to be renovated in order to maintain the desired functionality. The existing quay is to be upgraded, and due to space requirements, will be built with diagonal anchors attached and will consist of 3 berth compartments and a new wing wall in the Van Ommen Port.

The western quay wall is largely behind the existing structure, which mainly consists of anchored sheet piles.

The middle construction is for the existing quay, a stone bed setting on relief stilts. The western berth area of linkage will be to the existing quay at the Maas Tunnel.

Project Period: Starting 20.1.2012 / Completion 1.3.2013.

Tender Deadline: 14.12.2011.
