The Netherlands: “New Frontiers, New Impressions” Set for March

New Frontiers, New Impressions Set for March

In collaboration with the SKVR Free academy, the Port organizes the exhibition “New frontiers, new impressions” in FutureLand. The exhibition will show the results of a drawing and painting competition organized in the summer of 2011.

Seventy amateur artists will be challenged in the summer of 2012 to portray their impression on one of the major themes from art history, the landscape. The exhibition ‘New frontiers, new impressions’ will be held from Sunday, March 4 until Tuesday, May 29.

Nico Kervezee, as coordinator from SKVR responsible for the organization, is very enthusiastic about the result: “The new land of Maasvlakte 2 works incredibly inspiring. On one hand, the artists observed the pristine nature of the North Sea and on the other side the industrial area of the current Maasvlakte. It was a unique experience for the amateur artists because access to this part of the new land was not allowed because of the construction work.”
