Lake Ponchartrain Tributaries Dredging Plan Introduced (USA)

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has introduced plans for the Lake Ponchartrain Tributaries, LA, Bayou Lacombe, Tangipahoa River, and Tchefuncte River Bar Channels maintenance dredging, St. Tammany and Tangipahoa Parishes, Louisiana.

The work consists of maintenance dredging of Bayou Lacombe, Tangipahoa River, and Tchefuncte River Bar Channels, and disposal of the material into the Big Branch National Wildlife Refuge and Lake Ponchartrain shoreline disposal areas.

Bayou Lacombe disposal shall have an earthen dike closure and soft structures built on the northern end of the disposal site for retention. The estimated value of this work is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00.
