First Bidder Announced for Noyo Harbor Dredging

The Noyo Harbor District, with the help of SHN Consulting Engineers, has closed bidding for the dredging of the harbor’s mooring basin.

According to the District Manager Jere Kleinbach, only one contractor put a bid for the project. The bid by The Dutra Group – specialized in dredging, marine construction, harbors, levees – was for $1.8 million.

That bid came in considerably above the estimated $1.3 million, meaning the district will need to go back to federal and state regulators and get more money and permission to spend more, reported some local media.

Noyo Harbor is located at Fort Bragg, California, some 140 miles north of San Francisco. The project consists of removing approximately 35,206 CY material from the area and placing it in the District’s Upland Storage Site.
