Coffs Harbor Breakwater Scheme Set for May

Business & Finance

Haslin Constructions, a Sutherland-based engineering company, has won a $6.73 million Coffs Harbor Northern Breakwater upgrade, according to the Coffs Coast Advocate.

This development scheme, set to begin next month, will involve widening of the breakwater near the entry to the harbor and constructing a rock berm along the 300 meter section to protect the marina.

Coffs Harbor MP Andrew Fraser said that the crest of the walkway will also be raised to allow extensive views to the north and preserve pedestrian areas.

“An extension of the marina boardwalk was completed late last year and will maintain pedestrian access to Muttonbird Island while the works are being completed,” he said.

The project will be managed by NSW Public Works on behalf of DPI-Lands and is expected to be completed by mid-2017, dependent on weather.
