USACE to Discuss Proposed Mobile Harbor Project Next Week

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, will hold a Town Hall meeting, February 22, to discuss the ongoing study to determine the feasibility of increasing the depth and width of the Mobile Harbor Federal Navigation Channel.

The Town Hall meeting will be held at the Mobile Convention Center, Ala., from 6 to 8 p.m.

According to the Corps, the event is an opportunity for the public to receive an update on the proposed project’s status and upcoming milestones, and to ask questions and/or make comments related to potential impacts associated with the project.

The District Commander and members of the project team will give an update on the project and answer questions related to the proposed project.

USACE said that the meeting is one opportunity to share either oral or written public comments that will become part of the preparation of a Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed project.
