Second round of bidding for Thessaloniki Port expansion works

Tender process for the expansion of the Port of Thessaloniki, Greece, is now in its second and final stage.

According to the press release, the Board of Directors of ThPA S.A. reached the decision to go on with the second stage on Tuesday, 8 September, 2020.

This clears the way for the 2nd round of bidding for the “Expansion of the Marine Works Infrastructure of Pier 6” tender.

In the final stage, six companies selected in the first round, will submit their financial and technical offers.

Undder the specifications, this project includes:

  • Construction of a new 513m long quay wall, the 470m with an effective depth of -17,7m.
  • Construction of an additional 306,5m wide yard area alongside the new quay wall.
  • All additional infrastructure works, including deepening, required to ensure full operability of the new quay wall and the yard area.

When fully completed, this project will allow the service of ultra large container vessels in Port of Thessaloniki.
