Advanteering Civil Engineers won the tender to upgrade the jetty and boat ramp. The work site is located along the pristine Leeuwin-Naturaliste coast, about four kilometres south of Yallingup.

The project will see the existing boat ramps and jetty replaced by a newly aligned boat ramp. It will have a 1.8 metre-wide, wheelchair accessible jetty that extends 48 metres seaward.

Environment Minister Stephen Dawson: “Canal Rocks is an important facility for both recreational users and tourism operators. It’s great to see a Western Australian business carrying out the works.”

Transport Minister Rita Saffioti: “With the construction tender now awarded, works can commence next month supporting local jobs.”

According to the release, the works on the project will begin early next month. The new site will welcome first users by the end of January 2021.
