Work on Ihavandhoo Harbor moves ahead

Development work of Ha. Ihavandhoo Harbor is well underway, with overall 35% project progress to date, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) reports.

New harbor basin dredging works for the project is currently ongoing, with 59% completion.

Scope of works for the project include:

• dredging and reclamation operations – 21,295cbm;

• construction of a 95m quay wall;

• a 284m breakwater;

• and a 178m revetment.

Additionally, installation of navigation lights and streetlights, and construction of 4,582sqm of paved area will also be undertaken.

The value of the project is MVR 48.5 million ($3.1 million).
