Despite the freezing cold weather with temperatures dropping to minus 26 degrees, the crew of Galileo Galilei successfully completed all the tests.

The new vessel was named after the famous Italian astronomer, physicist and engineer.

Construction of the newbuild took place at the COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry shipyard in Dalian, China.

The 18,000m³ TSHD is equipped with a two stage highly efficient exhaust gas filter system, resulting in emissions complying with the European Stage V regulations for inland waterway vessels.
