Hanimaadhoo Harbor works move forward

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Plc officially started construction of a breakwater at Hdh. Hanimaadhoo Harbor on July 14, 2021.

Dredging work of the new harbor basin is currently ongoing, with 99% completion.

The Hdh. Hanimaadhoo Harbour project includes:

• new harbor basin dredging of 53,522.50cbm;

• harbor entrance channel dredging of 31,575.50cbm;

• construction of a 355m breakwater and a 50m revetment;

• a 270m quay wall and installation of 2,583sqm of paved area.

The value of the project is MVR 57.1 million ($3.7 million).
