Yaroslavsky Shipyard’s first ever CSD hits the water

Yaroslavsky Shipyard launched a non-self-propelled dredging vessel of Project RDB 66.42М yesterday.

According to the press center of the Yaroslavl Region Government, this is the first vessels of this type built by Yaroslavsky Shipyard.

“The shipyard has a great technological, logistic and labour potential allowing for implementation of the most challenging projects,” said Maksim Avdeyev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Yaroslavl Region Government.

The new cutter suction dredger will be used for dredging of fairways, canals, harbours, removal and transport of dredged material by floating pipelines.

The CSD’s length is over 65 meters, with width of 12 meters.

Upon completion of the trials, the dredger will operate in Caspiysk.

According to IAA PortNews, the shipyard will build two more units of this design for the Ministry of Defence.
