The vessels, which are ordered by the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK), are intended to debottleneck inland waterways and increase their throughput capacity.

According to the shipbuilder, the lead dredger of the series named Lotos-1 is currently undergoing mooring trials and will be delivered to the customer next month.

Key particulars of the Project 93.159 are: LOA – 50.00m; breadth – 11.88m; depth – 2.97m; average draft (fully fueled) – 1.30m; dredging depth (max) – 10m; dredging depth (min) – 2.0m; capacity – 900 cbm/hour.

Earlier this month, GTLK and the Southern Centre for Shipbuilding and Ship Repair signed a contract for the construction of six self-propelled dredgers with interchangeable cutter suction / rotary bucket equipment (Project 93.159А). The dredgers are to be built at Lotos production facilities. The first three vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2025 and the second batch in 2026.
