According to PLA, the vessel will discharge using a floating pipeline to the east of Berth No 4. Dredging will take place 24/7 with expected completion to be around 3rd March 2024.

The MEUSE RIVER is required to remain a minimum 75m clearance from vessels berthing or departing at No 3 berth and will display lights and signals as per the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at sea and maintain a listening watch on VHF channel 68,” said PLA in the notice.

DP World began work on the construction of the fourth container berth at London Gateway Port in 2023. This investment of £350m at the London Gateway logistics hub will boost the local economy, bolster supply chain resilience and increase capacity to accommodate the world’s largest vessels.

Overall, the project includes construction of a new 430m tubular piled quay wall, which is designed to tie into the end of the existing berth 3 – allowing the future construction of berth 5, and dredging the berth to 17m.

DP World expects the construction of the London Gateway 4 to be completed by the end of Q2 2024.
