The area to be dredged during this dredging campaign was entirely within the Loading Area required for the creation of two new riverside berths, Berth 52 and Berth 53 in Dublin Harbour.

Around 30,000m3 of clay, silt, sand, gravel and cobbles was dredged during the project and disposed 10km offshore to a dump site in the Irish Sea under Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Ireland license.

The dredging project, undertaken by CCM and Dublin Port Company (DPC) was a second capital dredging campaign performed under the MP2 Project.
