Under the project, the Office of Public Works (OPW) has approved funding of €121,500 for a coastal erosion risk management investigation and condition survey at Arklow North Beach to Clogga Beach, Co. Wicklow.

The Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme was introduced by the Office of Public Works in 2009. Since then, 18 funding applications by Wicklow County Council have been supported under this scheme.

The purpose of the scheme is to provide funding to Local Authorities to undertake minor flood mitigation works or studies to address localised flooding and coastal protection problems within their administrative areas.
