Suren Vakil, Managing Director of BMT Consultants India comments: “This is a very exciting time for the company. As India’s economy has grown exponentially, so too has the need for the country’s ports to be able to cope with the increased activity. We’re very proud to be part of such a successful company which has played an integral role in helping to shape India’s port development. This would not have been possible without the dedication and commitment of our people who strive to serve their clients effectively and deliver a service which meets our customers’ requirements.”

BMT started its operations in 2006 with only three employees and now has 60 staff, operating out of three offices which are situated in Mumbai, Chennai and Ahmedabad and two project sites. Its technical experts provide support from site selection and feasibility studies through to design and project management including specialist services such as traffic forecasting, coastal modelling, navigation simulation and bulk materials handling.

As well as working on a number of LNG terminals including proposed projects at Hazira, Dahej, Ennore and Mundra, BMT has provided specialist services at existing container ports including JNPT, Chennai and Mundra. The company has also been recognised as a preferred consultant for financial institutions for due diligence and Lenders Engineer assignments with clients including IDFC, Axis Bank, State of Bank of India and Punjab National Bank.
