TransOman 2012 to Promote Oman's Potential as Middle East Logistics Hub

OITE Conferences in association with the Ministry of Transport & Communication announced the 3rd Annual TransOman Conference 2012, which will take place from 14th – 16th May, at the Grand Hyatt in Muscat. The conference aims to promote Oman’s potential as the next Middle East logistic hub and gateway to the world.

A first of its kind workshop on HR & HSE in the transport, shipping & logistics sector will also be organised on 6th March, at the Grand Hyatt.

The TransOman conference is the largest and only transport and logistics event in the Sultanate.

This year’s conference will focus specifically on logistics & supply chain, civil aviation and ports & shipping. It will serve as a platform for the government, local and international transport, shipping and logistics professionals to discuss vital issues, exchange innovative ideas and practices and to explore new business opportunities.

“TransOman aims to continue to foster cooperation and collaboration with government and the industry with the aim to promote socio-economic growth and enhance the competence and skills of industry professionals,” said Ebrahim Taher, project manager of the event.

In today’s competitive world it is important for organizations to have advanced supply chain and logistics models in order to meet client demands, ensure growth and maximize the efficiency of roads, air, sea and soon rail links as well.

The conference also aims to provide an update on the developments of Oman’s maritime, ports and logistics sectors.
