FEMA Approves Lake Delhi Restoration Money (USA)

The Federal Emergency Management Agency yesterday approved funding to restore Lake Delhi, reports desmoinesregister.com.

We’re very happy of the final outcome of this,” said Steve Leonard, president of the lake district. “We don’t know truly yet what it means, to what extent.”

That money, Leonard said, would have allowed a bare-bones restoration of the lake. But yesterday’s FEMA announcement should allow the fuller restoration plan to take shape, including as much as $5 million in dredging plus creation of more public access points and reclamation of beaches.
