Contractor Wraps Up Presque Isle Beach Replenishment (USA)

The Presque Isle beach replenishment project is finally completed, reports erietvnews.com.

Harry Leslie, the Park Manager said, “The contractor still has to shape the dunes. Then when we go into the dormant season, they will take and pull out beach grass plugs from some of our existing dunes and plent them so they are landscaped as a final aspect of it.”

The amount of new sand totaled about $2.6 million dollars, purchased with state and federal funds.

Presque Isle is Pennsylvania’s only “sea shore.” Its long stretch of beaches makes it a popular hotspot to both locals and visitors each summer. Beaches are open daily from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day unless otherwise posted and each offer a unique experience at the park.
