Moffatt Nichol Welcomes New Senior Project Manager

Moffatt & Nichol welcomes Bruce Ostbo, PE, SE, who joins as a Senior Project Manager for the Seattle office.

With more than 31 years of experience, Mr. Ostbo has performed a variety of engineering services for waterfront and marine projects for structures ranging from boat launches and simple docks to wharves and terminals and complex, multi-use vessel mooring facilities. He will provide leadership in ports and marine structures, including inspection and rehabilitation services.

Mr. Ostbo’s experience includes management of planning, condition survey and inspection, repair and modernization design, new design, and design/build projects for port authorities, government agencies, including the U.S. Navy, the Maritime Administration, and the U.S. Coast Guard, and private sector clients.

Mr. Ostbo is a certified diver and participates in Moffatt & Nichols’ Inspection and Rehabilitation practice, which provides underwater inspection and condition surveying for waterfront, marine, and bridge structures. He is also a contributing author for the ASCE’s Timber Waterfront Structures – Standard Practice Manual for Inspection, Protection, and Repair, and Waterfront Facilities Inspection, Standard Practice Manual. Mr. Ostbo received both his BS and MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington.
