Canada: Nottawasaga River Needs Dredging

Nottawasaga River Needs Dredging

The Wasaga Beach councillors voted to recommend to full council to authorize the director of Public Works to move forward on making arrangements for the Nottawasaga River dredging project.

According to bayshorebroadcasting.ca, the spit of land at the end of the Nottawasaga is creeping further to the east, causing extremely low water levels and a narrow exiting channel to Georgian Bay.

Last time, the river mouth was dredged about three years ago.
