Said Rajaee Port Development Moves Ahead

Deputy Director of Civil Engineering Department of Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Administration, Abbas Kamali, said that for the first time in Iran, the repair work on the berths number 4 to 20 of Said Rajaee Port has been done by Iranian civil engineers.

According to the Public Relations Department of Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Administration, the work on these berth commenced in 2007 with a budget of more than 52 billiard Rials.

This work has been done in order to increase the safety of vessels as well as to improve the effectiveness of loading/unloading operation“, they added.

Poor environmental conditions of the Persian Gulf region and increase of loading/unloading operation caused serious damages to the marine superstructures of these berth. Some of these damages include loss of concrete cover of the rebar and severe corrosion of rebar due to the high permeability of concrete,” Deputy Director of Civil Engineering Department of Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Administration added.
