Nederland Pond Dredging Starts (USA)

Nederland Wastewater Pond Dredging Starts

The Town of Nederland, Colorado, will later today begin dredging of the remaining portion of sewer pond at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The goal of this project is to remove over 20 years’ worth of sludge from the pond and to increase plant operations and reduce future odors in this area.

An outside company will dredge and dewater the pond and haul away the solid materials. This work is necessary for continued plant operations, as the pond has been at capacity for some time.

With regular maintenance we hope to avoid these issues in the future,” the town officials said.

The process is estimated to take approximately one week and there will be strong odors during this time.
