The Entrance Beach to Receive New Sand

The preparations are currently underway for the start of essential works to help restore The Entrance Beach, the Wyong Shire Council informs.

The Council is receiving the first round of pipes today to Karagi Point, The Entrance North and the balance of the pipes is expected to be delivered next Friday, 25 September.

In order to make sure the pipes are delivered safely, Council will have temporary road closures in place along Marine Parade between Beach Street and Fairport Avenue.

The road closures are essential for the safety of the community as the pipes will be lowered by crane onto the beach from Marine Parade.

The extra pipes are being delivered to help address erosion at The Entrance Beach and counter concerns raised by key community groups.

It is planned to connect the pipes to the dredge on Monday 28 September. The dredge and pipes should be in place by mid-October ready to pump excess sand from The Entrance channel to the beach – up to 20,000 cubic meters.

The dredging program is expected to be finished in November.
