Green Lake Dredging Work Set for July

The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District held a public meeting at the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Community Building in the City of Shaker Heights, on May 16, regarding its Green Lake dredging project.

The Green Lake dredging scheme will benefit the water quality by removing organic sediments and reducing the cloudiness of the water.

Restoring the lake’s depth will improve its oxygen levels and reduce algae and duckweed blooms.

The dredging project will start in July and run through June 2017, the City of Shaker Heights said in its latest announcement.

The scheme will close Parkland Drive between Lee and Attleboro roads to through traffic.

Dredged material will be placed in the green space on Andover Road and on Shaker Heights Country Club property on Attleboro and dried, then transported off site.
