Aztec Muck Removal Scheme Set for Next Week

Starting on or around February 12th, the Aztec Parks Department will begin dredging of the Riverside Fish Pond, the City of Aztec, New Mexico, said in its latest announcement.

The project will take approximately one month from start date.

According to the official statement, the pond will be closed off at times and walking around the area once dredging begins is not advised.

There will be a large amount muck that will be stacked around the pond and other obvious areas in the park. This muck will not smell pleasant and it will be wet and sticky,” the city said in its release.

The main goal of this cleanup project is to provide a healthier area for resident’s enjoyment.
