Bakker Sliedrecht has reached an agreement with National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) to extend the lifetime of the electrical installations on NMDC’s two cutter suction dredgers (CSDs) – Umm el Zemoul and Al Hamra.
“NMDC aims to extend the lifetime of both CSD’s with 15 years while improving the efficiency of their production,” said Bakker in its release.
Under this CSDs contract, the company will be responsible for all main electrical installations.
Assembly will take place at Bakker’s modern and well equipped workshop in Sliedrecht, the Netherlands. The installation and commissioning of these installations will be conducted by Bakker Sliedrecht in the United Arab Emirates.
Key installations that are being replaced or upgraded during this project are:
- Electrical drive systems: (ladder winch, ladder pump, cutter and side winches);
- BIMAC (Bakker Integrated Modular Alarm Control) alarm installation;
- Dredge profile computer/cutter automation;
- New spare parts.
Both CSD’s are scheduled for delivery in the last quarter of 2018.
