Kananook Creek dredging begins

A maintenance dredging program on Kananook Creek is set to begin this week, Victorian Regional Channels Authority reports.

According to their official announcement, “Maintenance dredging works to be undertaken by Frankston City Council in the vicinity of Kananook Creek entrance.”

Further, dredging operations will be carried out by two long reach excavators.

Dredged material will be deposited for beach renourishment at the adjacent Frankston beach.

Also, plant and equipment will be stored ashore during the works.

“Mariners are advised to navigate with caution and within the designated speed limit in the vicinity of the works.”

VRCA manages commercial navigation in the port waters of Geelong and Hastings.

Also, it is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of shipping in port waters, providing direction and control of the movement of ships, and maintaining shipping channels and navigation aids.
