Macau Dredging signs new five year dredging contract

Macau Dredging Services Limited will continue to provide dredging and maintenance services of Macau’s public waterways and harbour basins after being awarded with a new 5-year contract taking effect on January 1, 2023.

According to their official statement, Macau Dredging (MD) “will provide services in the areas designated by the government to meet annual dredging volume requirements,” in accordance with the contract signed with the SAR Government. 

MD is a subsidiary wholly owned by gaming operator SJM Resorts.

“The successful bid is a further confirmation of SJM’s commitment to supporting Macau’s sustainable development. We are very pleased to continue to undertake this important task and make positive contributions to Macau’s economic and urban development,” said Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM,

The new agreement will be effective January 1, 2023, and should last for five years, until December 31, 2027.

Macau Dredging currently owns 27 dredgers, barges, tugboats and auxiliary vessels, and employs more than 160 dredging specialists.
