CDC nets New Pass maintenance dredging project in Florida

Coastal Dredging Company (CDC) has secured an $8.5 million contract with the U.S Army Corps of Engineers to conduct maintenance dredging of the New Pass in Sarasota County, Florida.

The New Pass Maintenance Dredging project includes removal of beach compatible sand from New Pass federal navigation channel and placement on the Lido Key beach placement area, located approximately 0.5 miles to 2.5 miles south of New Pass.

USACE estimates that approximately 300,000 cubic yards of sand will be dredged from the New Pass and placed along the coastline.

The dredging and beach renourishment works are estimated to begin in late 2025, with the completion set for early 2026.
