Dredging operations will take place along the berthing face of Buncrana Pier, for a distance of 200 meters south-west of the head of the pier, and also at the approach to the slipway.

Plough dredging is being carried out during daylight hours only, from 7am to 7pm daily, using the pusher tug Otterbank.

Access to the pier and movements within the harbor will be restricted during these works. All other harbor users and boat operators are asked to exercise caution while manoeuvring within the harbor,” Donegal County Council sad.

“This is essential work to ensure the safe operation of the harbor for all users and to enable any necessary rescue launch by the RNLI Lifeboat for the safety of those at sea.”

The work will be supervised by the Council.
