CHEC Sets Up Scholarship in Eight Chinese Universities

China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. has Set up “CHEC Scholarship” in eight famous Chinese Universities such as Zhejiang University, Tianjin University and Harbin Institute of Technology. The total amount of the scholarship (student aid fund) is around RMB 1.2 million.

CHEC has always adhered to a people-oriented talent strategy. It regards education and training as the most valuable investment. Thus the quality of its pool of talent constantly improves. With advantages in talent, technology, equipment, management, etc., it has won a favorable reputation in the international market. Throughout the year 2010, CHEC signed contracts on 45 new projects (the amount of newly signed contracts being USD 4.087 billion), commenced construction of 40 projects and completed 44 projects. The turnover of the whole year was USD 2.35 billion, which was the highest in its history and 24% higher than that of the previous year. CHEC timely adjusted its operation guideline and strategy in 2011 and expanded to broader and higher-end fields. At the beginning of the new year, it successively won the bids for more than ten projects, such as the Adipala Supercritical Coal-fired Power Plant Marine, the Doha New Port Project of Qatar, Kribi Deepwater Harbor Project of Cameroon Five of the projects had contract amounts of more than USD 100 million.

Benefiting from the strategy of “prospering and developing enterprise by talent”, CHEC strived to practice its core values of “shouldering responsibility, rewarding with high quality and cooperating for a win-win result” in its development. Being grateful, CHEC returned a favor with a favor. To reward students displaying excellence in morality and learning and to encourage them to study harder and make notable achievements and serve society so as to realize a win-win situation among the students, the universities and the enterprise, CHEC successively established the “CHEC Scholarship” in eight Universities, namely, Southwest Jiaotong University, Chang’an University, Zhejiang University, Tianjin University, Hohai University, Dalian University of Technology, Beijing Jiaotong University and Harbin Institute of Technology in June and July of this year. The total amount of the scholarship is RMB 1.2 million.

In the process of establishing the scholarship (student aid fund), CHEC said its current achievements were closely related to flourishing development of the education cause of China, scientific and technological innovation of higher learning institutions and training of talent, and therefore the enterprise should reward society and the education sector. Furthermore, establishment of the scholarship (student aid fund) will make more excellent students aware of CHEC and attract them to CHEC, which will promote further development of CHEC.
