Germany: KED & Sellhorn Bags HPA Development Project
Bietergemeinschaft KED & Sellhorn has been awarded a contract for harbour improvement works by Hamburg Port Authority.
HPA intends to widen the entrance channel for ships from the North Elbe in the outer harbour.
An extension to the shoreline of approx. 500m between the coal-ship harbour and outer harbour is needed for the enlargement of harbour entrance turning area.
1.2 million cubic meters of soil material needs to be removed and handled. Another 500,000 cubic meters of soil material will be installed to to strengthen the colliery port, the rest is going to be shared with additional dredged materials and placed in other required areas of construction within the port.
HPA is built on the “one face to the customer” principle and is the central contact partner for all inquiries arising with regard to infrastructure, navigational and operational safety and port security, property management and economic conditions in the port.
