Thailand: Bangkok Canal Dredging Progresses Well

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has expressed satisfaction with its work to prevent flooding this year with the dredging of 29 canals in Bangkok progressing by 60%.

BMA Spokesman Wasant Meewong spoke about the BMA’s readiness to deal with flooding this year, saying that the administration’s dredging work on 29 canals has progressed by 60%. On the other hand, the army’s dredging of 227 canals in 27 Bangkok districts has been completed while 70% progress has also been found in the sewer cleaning by the Department of Corrections.

25 high-pressure water pumps, 29 water-diverting machines and 48 submersible pumps are being installed. All pumping stations are also being improved for higher efficiency.
