Wasa Dredging at NEVA 2015

The Finnish dredging equipment manufacturer, Wasa Dredging, is getting ready to present its both existing and new models at the upcoming NEVA 2015 show in St Petersburg, Russia.

At the event, the equipment and sales branch of the company will introduce two new models the BHD 48000 and BHD 28000 as well as the previous ones BHD 18000 and BHD 12000.

The state-of-the-art BHD 48000 is one of the world’s biggest backhoe dredgers featuring a 48 m3 heavy-duty bucket, a 55 m3 light-duty bucket and a 800+ ton excavator.

The BHD models are delivered as a complete package. They are equipped with Hitachi excavators, specially developed booms and arms of our own design,” explained Daniel Backlund of Wasa Dredging.

According to him, the innovative double-winch system for controlling the spuds ensures smooth and safe stepping.

The “Wasa BHD” backhoe dredgers are accompanied by a range of “SHB” split barges, towed or self-propelled as the 940 m3 “SHB 940”, and the 2400 m3 “SHB 2400”.

He continued by saying “Wasa Dredging not only provides customers with the equipment, we also provide the know-how. This is provided by educating the customers’ work-force in operating the BHD models.”

At Neva 2015, the visitors will learn more about the company’s BHD models, the SHB split barges and the entire concept of “Wasa Dredging Equipment and Sales”.

The International Maritime Exhibition and Conferences NEVA 2015 will be held 22 – 25 September in St Petersburg.
