USACE Releases Video about Tidal Marsh Restoration Project in Delaware

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, is erecting dune system that will help the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to restore the salt water marshland of the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge.

This $38 million worth marsh restoration project is one of the largest restoration projects of its kind ever conducted in the eastern U.S.

During the project, contractors will dredge more than 1.2 million cubic yards of sand from the Delaware Bay, using it to build a dune and berm at the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge.

Work is expected to be complete by April 2016.
