UNC Coastal Studies Institute, a Roanoke Island-based inter-university research institute, has just released a video about the Rodanthe ferry channel dredging program.

The video shows how an interdisciplinary team of scientists from the UNC Coastal Studies Institute works with the North Carolina Department of Transportation to provide recommendations for the deposit of dredge sediments that will result from widening the emergency ferry channel in Rodanthe, NC.

The mission of the UNC Institute is to undertake research, offer educational opportunities, provide community outreach programs and enhance communication among those concerned with the unique history, culture and environment of the maritime counties of North Carolina.
